The Clan Together

Today, I went home for Mother's Day weekend. Meighann and I had dinner and Grandpas and Babas house. He made sausage and pasta.. YUM!!!

While we were waiting for it to finish cooking, grandpa asked me if I was thinking of getting a tattoo. I said yes, but it's something that will be on me forever so I am really going to have to think about it. He said good- and that I should get one.. but to think about it and if I decided to get one, he wants to come. Ok gramps- I will get working on my tattoo..

Right after we finished our movie, the door bell rang, and as I opened the door, there was mom and Lyndsey!!! I love when Lyndsey comes home... It's weird because it doesn't seem like we are that close, but when she's gone, I feel like I am missing a part of me.

Anyways, we are all sitting down talking about their trip when grandpa gets up, leaves the dinning room and walks to the tv room. I wasn't quite sure what he was doing, but I figured he was turning on some music. As he walks away, I hear the Indiana Jones Theme Song.. da dada, da da da..
I said "Is someones phone ringing?"
Grandpa "Well, that would be a really great ringtone.."
Me- "Sooo is it someones phone?"
Grandpa "Oh no.. Someone gave me a card and it played that when you opened it up. But I really liked it, so I cut the music part out of the card."
Me- "Wait, what?"
Baba- "Oh yeah, he plays it all the time.. So if you see him walking over there, its because he wants to hear Indiana Jones."
Oh grandpa.. you are too cute.

Later on, Meighann was putting some hairbands on stretched over her face. I looked at her and said, "Meg, what are you doing? You look Chinese."
Then I start hearing this high pitched voice singing, "We are Siamese.. If you please.." I look over and its Baba with her eyes closed, hands folded and swinging side to side.
Me- "what? I said Chinese?.."
Baba, after finishing, - "Yeah, I know but it reminded me of Siamese."

Oh gosh- it's good to be home :)

Oh.. the E.R.

Last week I was stung by a bee on my toe. It got big and red, but after 3 days, it seemed to be just fine. Last night, my foot started to really itch. I scratched it a little, but I know that you aren't supposed to, so instead I grabbed my ice pack and slept with it on my foot. When I got up the next morning, my foot was HUGE!

I called my mom and started walking to the Student Health Office. Just my luck, it was closed. So I sent a picture of my foot to my mom and she said that I had to go to the hospital. Luckily my amazing friend Caily went with me. We pull up to the hospital, and it was so small. The emergency room and main office were the same place. I didn't really know what to do so I walked up to the lady and said "Yes, I need to be admitted."
She looked at me like I was crazy, and said "Admitted?"
"Well, yes," I replied.
Caily then stepped in and said, "No no, her foot has an infection or something."
"Oh," the woman replied. "I see."
Apparently you aren't supposed to say that you need to be admitted into a hospital. sorry.

I was filling out some papers and looking around this tiny room. Everyone there was old, and it was deathly quiet. Then I hear this "clank, clank, shoom, thththan" I look around and it's Caily at the gumball machine. Every old person in the room was giving her the evil eye. Oh caily.

Finally my family came and we ended up leaving the 4 hour wait at the hospital and went to a clinic. Turns out, I have a severe infection. 4 pills a day for 10 days. JOY. Who would a severe infection from some bacteria entering the bee sting site? oh yes- me. but now its a good story :)

Road-kill

A few weeks ago, my friends and I decided to walk to the strawberry fields on my schools road and maybe pick a strawberry. The walk there was what made the night.

As we are walking on this pitch dark road, I was in the back/middle sticking to the group. But somehow I ended up being in the front. I am just walking along, sticking to the road, when I feel something on my foot. I freaked out and kicked it, jumped back and screamed. Carl pulled out his phone, and what was it you ask? a dead squirrel. that's what. still bloody. on my foot. and i was wearing flip-flops. GREAT. Talk about freaking out. I thought I was going to puke.. I could still feel it on me, and then seeing its bloody body.. BLAH!

As I walk on, still completely grossed out... I chose not to be in front anymore. No thank you. But we did get some pretty awesome strawberries, and now I can say that a dead squirrel was on my foot.. Because who wouldn't want to tell that story?!

Awkward Date

I was watching "A lot Like Love" and in one scene, a girl was asking a guy what he does for his job. He said he makes diapers, and she laughed.

I got thinking.. Yeah that would be pretty lame, but what would be even more awkward would be if he said that he worked at a tampon factory. What would you say to that? "Can I have some regular unscented please?"

Oh man, that will be the day.

Tornado Beach

So on Wednesday, Shelley and Carl decided to go to the beach. Clearly, it was windy outside- but they insisted that it would be ok once we got there... Sure, ok. As we park the car on the beach, you can see a whole sand cloud just covering the entire beach. We had to sit as close to the water as we could, so that the sand would be hard. That didn't seem to matter though, as we were attacked by sand anyways.

Shelley and Carl were eating Tacos from Jack n the Box, and I was in the fetal position trying to not get anymore sand in my ears, eyes and mouth. I look up and see a bird, flying, but not moving anywhere. He couldn't move, just kept drifting side to side about 15 feet in front of us. After about 7 min, he was able to finally fly the opposite direction and gave up on waiting for tacos.

A while later, a huge gush of wind can and the bag flew with napkins flying everywhere.. I tried to chase after it but it was a lost cause. A few minutes later, we see the bird with a taco bag in his mouth and then- a whole taco! Smart Bird i tell ya, we didn't even know it was there.. Getting back after staying there for less than an hour, I took a shower and cleaned my ears. 4 q-tips worth of sand. No, it's not that windy...
