Last week I was stung by a bee on my toe. It got big and red, but after 3 days, it seemed to be just fine. Last night, my foot started to really itch. I scratched it a little, but I know that you aren't supposed to, so instead I grabbed my ice pack and slept with it on my foot. When I got up the next morning, my foot was HUGE!
I called my mom and started walking to the Student Health Office. Just my luck, it was closed. So I sent a picture of my foot to my mom and she said that I had to go to the hospital. Luckily my amazing friend Caily went with me. We pull up to the hospital, and it was so small. The emergency room and main office were the same place. I didn't really know what to do so I walked up to the lady and said "Yes, I need to be admitted."
She looked at me like I was crazy, and said "Admitted?"
"Well, yes," I replied.
Caily then stepped in and said, "No no, her foot has an infection or something."
"Oh," the woman replied. "I see."
Apparently you aren't supposed to say that you need to be admitted into a hospital. sorry.
I was filling out some papers and looking around this tiny room. Everyone there was old, and it was deathly quiet. Then I hear this "clank, clank, shoom, thththan" I look around and it's Caily at the gumball machine. Every old person in the room was giving her the evil eye. Oh caily.
Finally my family came and we ended up leaving the 4 hour wait at the hospital and went to a clinic. Turns out, I have a severe infection. 4 pills a day for 10 days. JOY. Who would a severe infection from some bacteria entering the bee sting site? oh yes- me. but now its a good story :)
